Sim Video Resources
Simulation-based training can be a powerful medical educational tool. With this in mind, we have developed a series of paediatric SIM scenarios that explore different presentations of anaphylaxis in different healthcare environments.
These video resources are based on real patient cases from the region and the actors that participated in this process did so without prior rehearsal. What makes simulation so useful is that it allows us to learn in from our mistakes without real-life consequences, whilst still replicating some of the stress and pressure real emergencies bring. These films have been created not as perfect examples of how to manage anaphylaxis, but as realistic potential clinical encounters that offer many points for discussion and rich learning opportunities for the observer.
During the simulations, the actors made omissions and mistakes. The questions below for each of the scenarios will test your observational skills and focus your learning on key aspects of the management of anaphylaxis.
