Dr Rachel Lee
I am a paediatric doctor working in the Great North Children Hospital, Newcastle. I am currently pursuing my subspecialty training in paediatric allergy and immunology.
Growing up in a developing country where allergy was under-diagnosed, I have experienced and witnessed how children tend to carry the disease burden for a long time due to poor understanding of allergy by public and healthcare professional. Therefore, I am a strong believer in the fundamental role of medical education and health promotion in a healthcare system, especially in the world of allergy.
Outside the world of medicine, I can often be found on the beautiful and wild Scottish mountains or rock-climbing walls with my partner in crime, now days also known as ‘husband’.
It was my pleasure to be part of the beat anaphylaxis editor team. I hope that this will provide a valuable knowledge and resource platform to our fellow colleagues and also to the general public.
