Professor Gillian Vance
I studied medicine at Cambridge, before training in general paediatrics & paediatric allergy at Southampton. At University of Southampton I also obtained a Ph.D. for work exploring maternal factors that might direct the development of atopy in the infant.
In 2005 I was appointed as a Consultant paediatrician. In 2012 I took up appointment as Clinical Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at Newcastle University and in 2020 I was promoted to a personal Chair in Medical Education.
My allergy practice is based at the Great North Children’s Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, where my work encompasses all aspects of paediatric allergy, from single food allergy to complex & multi-system allergic symptoms.
